Many years of pedagogic work gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about children: what dolls they prefer at what age, how boys and girls act while playing with the dolls and about the role of parents and educators.

For a child a doll is much more than just a toy: it is often a companion and friend for girls as for boys over many years. Since such a beloved toy is not easy to replace or replaceable, I have made it my goal, to design a really high-quality, beautifully crafted doll.

A doll to love, a friend to share joy and sorrow with – that is the wish of many children. This wish may be fulfilled with a lovely doll by Heidi Hilscher.

All dolls are handmade from the finest materials at the doll manufacture in Ulm, Germany. The doll bodies are made of extremely durable cotton in kba quality (GOTS-certified). This cotton is produced in Germany and exclusively made for Heidi Hilscher Puppen.

The doll bodies are filled with organic wool (kbt quality) from a certified partner.

Dolls filled with synthetic fiber can be machine washed, best protected by a laundry net using mild detergent. Dolls filled with organic wool should only be hand washed cold with mild detergent.

For clothing organic cotton fabrics (produced in germany) are mainly used. They have kbA-quality and are GOTS certified.

For the clothing of our “classic dolls” we mainly use frabrics made of cotton (conventional, Oeko-Tex-Standard 100).

The product complies with the European Toy Safety Guidelines and was awarded with the title “spiel gut.”

Dolls with simple clothing and short “hair” made of mohair plush are suitable for children as from approximately 1 year.

For those dolls, an additional cotton cap can be ordered. It can be sewn to the wig for the first playing period. Please be aware that sewn wigs (made of mohair plush) as well as crocheted wigs (made of mohair bouclé) might give off a bit of fluff in the beginning.- Excess wool may be removed by shaking and plucking.

Dolls with long braids and lots of “hair” are a delight for older children who like to dress and braid hair. These dolls are suitable for children of the age of 3 years and older. Children at this age may also like extra clothing for their doll!
